Portfolio of published work
Mike has been working as a professional wildlife and landscape photographer for more than 30 years. To list all of his publishing credits would produce a boringly long list so below are just a few examples. You will see from the titles and from the published images that Mike covers a wide spectrum of subjects including birds, mammals, flowers, fungi, insects (including butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies, moths and other insects) as well as beautiful and atmospheric landscapes and so much more.
In this RSPB/Dorling Kindersley joint publication Mike had more than 80 images reproduced. This was more than almost all other photographers and more than some of the larger, specialist natural history photographic agencies. This truly demonstrates the breadth of Mike's coverage and the quality of his work combined with a commitment to providing a service to suit publisher's often tight deadlines. Pictures used in this prestigious title featured a wide range of subjects including Birds, Mammals, Reptiles, Amphibians, Insects and Fungi plus a range of landscape pictures spreading from the Orkney Islands to Devon. Below are a few sample images from Mike's involvement in this project.

This BBC Books title, penned by TV personality Alan Titchmarsh, contained more than 90 of Mike's images. As with the above title, this 2007 publication contained a broad range of subject matter from his ever expanding stocks. The spread of subjects in this book ranged from sea birds in Scotland through to woodland species and landscape shots in the New Forest National Park. Below is a very small selection of what Mike supplied for this title.

For a number of years including for 2010 and 2011, Mike supplied all of the atmospheric landscape and wildlife pictures for successive New Forest Calendars published by J Salmon Ltd. One of his Robin images adorns the front cover of Infocado's 2010 Robins calendar and the photos in the RSPCA's 2007 Wildlife calendar were all supplied from Mike's extensive stock library.

Mike has been the author and photographer of 4 books on the New Forest published by Halsgrove Publishing Ltd in recent years. He has also supplied all of the photographs for The New Forest National Park (written by Clive Chatters - the chairman of the New Forest National Park Authority) and he supplied most of the images for The South Downs (written by Peter Brandon). These were also Halsgrove titles.

Back in 1997, Midsummer Books Ltd used one of Mike's Barn Owl photos to launch their partwork 'Wildlife of Britain'. Throughout the life of the partwork he regularly supplied photographs for this extensive collection of works and also often wrote articles on various topics especially birds.

Blandford Press Ltd commissioned Mike to supply many of the photos for 'The Robin' (our National bird) and as this title was so successful (it went to 3 print runs) he was then commissioned to supply all of the images for 'The Barn Owl'. This has resulted in extensive stocks of both of these species.
