Aotearoa - Land of the Long White Cloud illustrated talk

New Zealand is a wonderful place to visit for a wildlife holiday or to photograph the locations and wildlife.  This talk takes the form of a tour that I co-led to this island nation.  It visits coastal locations and islands for those fabulous ocean wanderers, Albatrosses plus other seabirds and then through to atmospheric forests of Southern Beech, Kauri and Tree Ferns.  There are glaciers to be seen in the Southern Alps and we visit the lower slopes of Aoraki or Mount Cooke, the mountain that Sir Edmond Hillary used as training for his ascent of Mount Everest in 1953.

Many endemic species have come close to extinction (including Black Stilt which had a population of just 120 in the wild in the year I visited) due to introduced predators which the Government is working hard to eradicate.  Many of the other rarities will be mentioned during this talk which is given alongside beautiful images.
